CTRL Open House
Poster, bookmark and coaster design.
The Center for Teaching, Research and Learning at American University had an open house on November 10, 2011.

As the graphic designer, I was in charge of creating an "identity" for the event that could be used in advertising materials and giveaway items.

As much of CTRL's research work is based on computer-generated data visualization, we decided to go with a "Wordle" look and feel using terms that defined CTRL. Having established that one of the giveaways would be a round coaster, I designed it and used it for the letter "O" in the poster as well.

The giveaway items consisted of the coaster and a bookmark (see photo below).
